I live in Neelangkarai,Kabaleeswara Nagar. I do understand what the present government is going through regarding the power problem,but the real problem seems not the power problem but managing the problem.I experienced for the past one month ,more power cuts in a day than the actual stipulated durations.There were many times,in my area,we had experienced 24hrs power shut,and especially after the ,maintenance.I wonder,how is it possible, after a maintenance for 5-6 solid hours,the EB department in Neelangkarai,will say,there is a major cable fault.I have heard this humpty times, that major cable fault,cable burnt,corporation fault and the excuses keep piling.
I really want the respective authorities to look into Neelangkarai Kabaleeswara Nagar, EB.There seem to be a serious problem going on with the sub standard cables laid by the EB department here, which is what causing the problems.The cable could not withstand more than 8hrs of the power,thus it keep burning and the EB keep changing the sub standard cable. I have friends staying all over Chennai.In the same stretch of ECR from Thiruvanmayur to Kannathur,none of my friends experience the way we experienced.There was power cut at 1530hrs today at Kabaleeswara Nagar,Neelangkarai.As usual,we thought ,it will be restored at 1630hrs. Until 1730hrs, there was no power and I decided to call the call centre to complain.The first time,the operator assisted me well,and she had registered my case.After registering,I called up the EB Neelangkarai.I asked,why,we didn't have the power.He simply brushed me off and shouted on the phone,saying,the cable burnt.I asked,ok,what you have done.He said,he can't do it today but he will do tomorrow.I asked ,why this is frequently happening,and he pint pointed at the corporation guys and blamed the government.I understood,this guys are non cooperative with the present government.I told him,I am paying tax,and that tax is your salary.Don't be rude in answering and just do your duty. I went further expressing,that I will publish this matter in the press that the EB is using sub standard materials and wasting the electricity.I hung up the phone,and got back to the call centre to register again a fresh complaint about the EB personnel not willing to take responsibilities in solving the issues.This operator told me that they will not do any repair at night,when it was only 1800hrs.Furthermore she said,they do not register personal problems. The call centre should give knowledge training to the staffs differentiating personal problems and subject related issues.Call centres should be emphasized telephone techniques and telephone mannerism. Anyway, I presumed there are some culprits ,mismanaging the power distribution and using the substandard cables which aren't meeting the government imposed standards.Thus, there must be a thorough investigation in the cables in Kabaleeswara Nagar.It looks there are some discrepancies and misappropriations of funds in purchasing the sub standards cables.Please investigate. It is high time,diploma holders and graduates in electrical engineering should be hired as field staffs rather having staffs who do not have knowledge about the field.Thus enabling a better living by effective measures efficiently.
In Pazhavanthangal Bharathiyar 2nd street residents are experience additional power cut during night besides the one hour regular power cut in the afternoon. In most of the houses there is voltage fluctuation and electrical appliances are affected. People are forced to repair or replace the appliances or accessories. Senior citizens, school going children are mostly affected especially during their examinations. Air conditioners/fans/tube lights are not working and people suffer from summer heat for the past several years. Even we have got RTI information, the same problem persists till this date, no body turned up yet inspite of our repeated requests. So, kindly take necessary steps and do the needful at the earliest.

chromepet,Bashyam Nagar, Power cut hours goes in the same direction as the charges northwards.! Here is where Public pay more for less. It is been an hour and half since the power gone not sure when the power will come. Lets hope and pray for someone responsible to read this and act.
Kindly refer my email dated 20th October, 12 wherein I have complained about the cables were kept outside the storm water drain which need attention to avoid any loss of life. So far no one from your department attended the complaint. The above letter was also sent to the chief minister cell and the have also informed me over phone the same has been forwarded to your department for immediate action. The previous letter addressed is also appended below for your reference.
"The storm water drainage work is under progress in our Ponnambalam Salai, K K Nagar, Chennai-78. The tneb cables were taken out from the drain and put it on the road. Due to the heavy rain, the cable may be get damaged and we the residents fear it may cause some severe casualty. I request some remedial measure may please be taken to avoid any casualty in the area. The photos attached to this mail will show you the exact present position.
Urgent action required. Please do something before any unforeseen death toll in the area.

Right from babies to elders everyone us being affected with lack of sleep in this hot summer. Please consider peoples convenience during power cuts.
