Shiva-Vishnu Temple- T.Nagar

This temple is situated in the busy area of T.Nagar (Usman Road) facing east, very near to T.Nagar bus terminus.

It is Governed by a trust namely Mambalam Sanmargha Samvardhini Sabha. This temple was constructed under the guidance of Maha Periyawal of Kanchi in 1935. The renovation work is going on now and the Kumbhabishekam is to be expected during April 2010.

This temple is the first of its kind having separate sannidhis for both Lord Siva and Lord Vishnu. The other deities worshipped in this temple are Sri Subramanyaswamy, Varasidhi Vinayakar, Kethareswar, Sri Srinivasa Perumal, Sri Rama and Anjaneya, Sri Durga, Dakshinamurthy, Natarajar, Kasi Viswanathar and the Nava Grahas.

At Kasi Viswanathar Sannidhi like many such temples in North India, the devotees can themselves perform Abhishekam . They can also meditate in the temple. In this temple, Go-puja (Pujas to Gomata) is performed on the third Friday of every month.

Other special poojas performed here during Sivarathri, Vaikunta Ekadasi, Kirthigai, Ram Navami and Hanuman jayanthi . The temple is open from 6 a.m to 11 a.m in the morning and 5 to 9 p.m in the evening.
