Discuss: What do you think of today's syllabus for small children?

This thread is to discuss the opinion poll topic 'What do you think of today's syllabus for small children?'.

Present day syllabus is by and large mostly impractical and irrelevant to the future life. Either learning algorithm or Pythagoras is not going to help in their daily life, all they need is to survive wisely coping with the cut throat competition, withstanding the pressure in the rat race and finally emerging a winner in life!
Those who frame the syllabus are people who do not have the visionary to adapt to the future.

Mere mugging by students do not take them anywhere, rather they rut in one place, not able to come out of the quick sand of the irrelevant un-contextualised syllabus. They need syllabus which would cater to the future life , how to survive in the world of corruption, inflation, terrorism .The society gives less respect for those who obey rules and regulations and laws. Encroachment and authoritarianised rulers and leaders take away the charm of the future generations will to stand by rules and regulations.

This is really nice thread, in one aspect it is tough and maker the kids to stay home without going to play. The portions are very heavy and the kids don't have time to play. In another aspects it is o.k, the kids gain more knowledge in all aspects.

The syllabus of central, ICSC and Matriculation are little tough when compare to State board.

But the students of central, ICSC and Matriculation are having
more subject knowledge than state board children.

    Hi,

Todays children's are suffering lot from their syllabus. Because the life is changing in all kinds of ways. Even it is changing to child's also. Lots of books, portions, syllabus changing and even lot and lot. Book loads on their back. This is the day o day feel of the child's. All should be changed soon. But it is still in progress. Class rooms are needed facilities to keep the books of each children and they were walk to their home freely.
