Discuss : Is Murali Vijay a failure?

We had a lot of hopes on Murali Vijay when he was selected for Tri-Series tour on the basis of his stunning performance in IPL-3 edition, but he has not lived up to our expectations in this series so for.

Is IPL is not an parameter for selection of players or international cricket matches have different task?

Infact IPL have been able to help identify the best talents in Indian Cricket. One such talent is Murali Vijay. But God only Knows why he was unable to perform just the way he did in IPL.

We should also take into account that most of the Indian players are suitable only for Indian pitch conditions and are not trained to play in International pitches.

Let us hope he is chosen again to play International cricket and be given a second chance to prove himself.

Yes, that is absolutely correct and that is what our legendary cricketer Gavaskar too opined.

One cannot gauge the players talent in a single match or tournament, there could be several reasons for their temporary failure.

If Hashim Amla and Develiers would have been dropped when they failed to perform in their initial matches, they would have not been in the form what they are now as South Africa is more dependent on these two players and they have not disappointed the team and country also, they are consistent performers in the present one day series against West Indies.

As it is rightly said 'Form is temporary but class is permanent'. But we have not seen either two in Murali Vijay in the ongoing series.

Let us hope he may not disappoint us further.
