A Car falls off the unfinishd flyover onto the railway lines in Pallavaram, Chennai

Yesterday there was an accident which was due to the sheer negligence of the highways Department.

A SUV vehicle with the driver as a lone occupant went down the unfinished flyover, which should have been built across the railway lines.
Since the end connecting to the GST Road is neat and tarred one will think that the bridge has been opened for use.

There are neither barricades nor stones which the highways department usually puts to divert the traffic. The man who was just 30 years old was going to get an application form for his sister from one of the engineering colleges in the Pallavaram area.

For the people who were waiting for the train at the pallavaram Railway station it was like a scene from the movies. The car came rushing past the unfinished flyover and fell down onto the tracks.
Luckily the train had just passed or this would have been a far serious calamity.

He is said to have been critically hurt on his head and have multiple fractures in his legs. If you want to know more just visit The Hindu

Hai latha ,nice to raise the problem in this site.Nowadays lot of construction activities is going on in Chennai, so are the accidents. Two months back a boy in the cycle ,moving slowly was pulled for some distance by the shoulderbag by some vehicle and was killed. He was the only son and a brilliant student. It is so shocking that I gave up the idea of sending my child in the bicycle to the road.
As a citizen we wish the government as well as the public should be little more vigil while on the road.
