Adambakkam, a suburb of the city of Chennai is a thickly populated suburb close to the railway line and St. Thomas Mount station.The areas close to Adambakkam are Alandur, Palavanthangal, Nanganallur, Puzhuthivakkam, Velachery and Guindy.
Adambakkam is a major residential suburb of Chennai city and one can find lots of individual houses in this area. This is a lake area and so even in acute water scarcity times, there had been less of such problem. Adambakkam area developed quite fast without much of planning. But later this area was well developed with underground drainage and well laid roads.
The Nandeeshwarar temple in Adambakkam is one of the very ancient temples, built by Kulothunga Cholan III
